Scholarship Opportunities
We recognize that attending graduate school involves a significant financial investment. Students enrolled in the Tufts online MSDS program may benefit from a number of resources to fund their degree. These options include:
Alumni who return to Tufts School of Engineering can earn their MS degree at a reduced tuition rate. Alumni are eligible for Double Jumbo Scholarships with benefits that include:
- 20 percent per credit discount on tuition
- Waived graduate application fees
- Only two required letters of recommendation

Tufts School of Engineering offers undergraduates and alumni from select institutions a streamlined application process and tuition scholarship to those pursuing a master’s degree.
Program Benefits

Students from bridge universities applying to the School of Engineering should email soeonline@tufts.edu to discuss their eligibility with an enrollment advisor.
NOTE: Bridge students are defined as individuals who are current students or alumni of select institutions. There is no time limit on years since graduation. This discount cannot be combined with any other discount or scholarship without advance permission from the School of Engineering Dean for Graduate Education.
The current Yellow Ribbon Scholarship award at Tufts is $5,000 annually for veterans enrolled as students in the School of Engineering. You can find additional information about the Yellow Ribbon Scholarship on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website.
Tufts School of Engineering offers a limited number of merit-based scholarships to online students each semester. Applicants are reviewed for a scholarship and program admission at the same time. A separate scholarship application is not required. The scholarship covers 10% of the tuition for each semester of a candidate’s program. The scholarship cannot be transferred to a future start term, and cannot be combined with any other Tufts University scholarship (with the exception of Yellow Ribbon).
